Popular children's book "Harry Potter" is transitioning from elementary schools to the collegiate world.

At Centre College in Kentucky, one professor is planning on teaching a class that explores the connection between Harry's magical word and religion, reports Fox News.

Twenty-eight students, most of them "Harry Potter" fans, signed up for the course that will explore the series' "deeper theological discussion" and "interesting religious themes," such as the "struggle between good and evil, notion of a hero, self-sacrifice and life after death."

For the class, students will have to read three "Potter" books and other readings in Christian theology and church history.
