Nicki Minaj has dethroned Miley Cyus on Vevo, setting a new record with her "Anaconda" music video.
In just 24 hours after it premiered on Tuesday, Aug. 19, Minaj's twerk-filled video received 19.6 million views, beating out Cyrus' September 2013 music video for "Wrecking Ball" (19.3 million views).
"Anaconda," which samples Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back" (1992), features Minaj booty shaking and twerking in the jungle with dancers showcasing their, um, assets. Minaj is also seen giving fellow rapper Drake a lap dance (and yes, his "anaconda" was wayyy up).
The rapper's latest single has garnered the attention of many, becoming a social media success. In its first 24 hours, hashtag #AnacondaVideoOnVevo delivered 854 million estimated impressions from 147,267 Twitter mentions by 95,412 users.
On Twitter, Minaj wrote, "WE BROKE THE RECORD BABY!!!!! Anaconda Video 19.6 million views in 24 hrs!!!! :)" after hearing the news.
At the time of posting, "Anaconda" has recieved more than 39 million views total.
