Expand your knowledge, earn college credits and enjoy a change from the normal routine or campus! Over 600 classes from the UCR general catalog will be available this summer to anyone who has an interest in them.

Summer Sessions is an open enrollment system. Current UCR students, including incoming Freshmen, UC students from other campuses, visiting students from another college or university, including high school graduates, international students, international high school students, high school students entering grades 10-12 in 2016, UCR staff or anyone interested in furthering their education are eligible for enrollment. Financial aid is also available to those who qualify.

Advanced High School Students will want to take advantage of their Summer Academy program where students will earn college credit on an official UC transcript, meet with distinguished faculty, and build new relationships with fellow UCR students. The opportunity to experience college early is not to be missed.

You can complete that Organic Chemistry course you keep putting off in just 9 weeks. Try a drawing and design course or learn some new moves in a dance class. If you’re stuck on that novel you’ve been working on for the past 5 years there are creative writing classes and workshops available as well! Whatever your interests are or your major – UCR Summer Sessions have you covered.

Taking classes during UCR Summer Sessions means getting ahead! Classes are taught in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great way to take care of prerequisites or to tackle more intensive classes with the smaller class sizes and shorter quarters. The classes are identical in focus and content to those taught during the traditional school year but allow for more interaction and guidance from faculty. Best of all units are transferable to almost any four year university – including all UC’s.

Interested students can visit summer.ucr.edu to get started. You’ll need to complete online Application Form to receive your UCR Student ID and Permanent Pin (unless you are a continuing UCR student). From there you can peruse the catalog and choose your courses. Make sure you’ve met all the prerequisites before proceeding to registration. Enroll in classes and pay – it’s that easy!
