The 8th Annual Santa Monica Pub Crawl (12/10)

Santa Monica’s most festive day of the year returns with the 8th Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at 5 p.m. This year’s crawl, proudly sponsored by Grubhub, will feature more than 30 local bars and restaurants from across the city offering food and drink specials to those with the official pub crawl wristband. This ever-popular, fundraising event brings the community together to raise money for those in need through a partnership with the Westside Food Bank. Last year, nearly 6,000 crawlers filled the streets dressed as santas, reindeer and elves, and raised over $20,000, enough money for 120,000 meals.

Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at www.santamonicapubcrawl.com.

This year, the SMPC is pleased to be presented by Grubhub, the nation’s leading online and mobile food ordering company dedicated to connecting hungry diners with local takeout restaurants. Attendees can find Grubhub activations at each of the check-in locations, where they will be giving out swag and offering $10 off a delivery order for new diners.

"Westside Food Bank has been overwhelmed by the support of the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl for the past seven years, and is proud to be the beneficiary agency for the 8th year in a row," says Genevieve Riutort, Chief Development Officer for the Westside Food Bank. "The event has helped to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in our community while also giving people the opportunity to make a difference while having a great time. In the past seven years, the Pub Crawl has made it possible for Westside Food Bank to distribute more than a quarter million pounds of food for local families in need. That makes a huge impact, especially during the holidays."

SANTA Monica Pub Crawl participants are encouraged to dress in Santa/holiday attire so the streets of Santa Monica are filled with merry cheer. An Instagram contest will award the crawlers with the most impressive holiday gear with special prizes including gift certificates to some of the participating locations, so festive dress is highly recommended.

In order to participate, crawlers must purchase a wristband, choose a route (Wilshire, Main Street, Promenade or Pier), download the official map and mobile app and start at their assigned starting location. The crawl includes special offerings all night, such as $5 Stella Artois, $5 well drinks, Maker’s 46 holiday cocktails and $3 draft beers.  Other offers include $3 slices at Joe's Pizza, buy-one, get-one soft serve at Tasti D-Lite, free churro tots with purchase at the Border Grill Truck, $6 Beast Fries at Plan Check and more. The Official After Party will be held for an additional fee at Wokcano Santa Monica with a DJ, photo booth and more fun holiday festivities.

The SANTA Monica Pub Crawl is a community event and encourages responsible drinking. The Big Blue Bus will be selling unlimited bus passes for $4 on the SMPC website. Additionally, Santa Monica Free Ride vehicles will be giving rides up and down each route and handing out Vita Coco coconut water for crawlers to hydrate along the way.

Crawlers can visit the website for a complete list of bars, routes, specials, map, bus stops and updates at www.santamonicapubcrawl.com, or follow @SMPubCrawl on Instagram and Twitter and “like” www.facebook.com/SMPubCrawl.
