Bela Lugosi, Jr., son of legendary movie “Dracula” actor Bela Lugosi, attended the second night presentation of the new vampire rock musical  "Blood Rock: The Musical”  which has been greeted by cheering audiences at The Odyssey Theater in West Los Angeles. Mr. Lugosi was joined by members of his family at the show.

“My father would have loved this play,” Mr. Lugosi said afterwards. “This show has drama, action, comedy, dance, romance, and best of all, lots of vampires! His first love was always the live theater stage, and I’m sure he would have greatly enjoyed ‘Blood Rock’ as much as my family and I have tonight!”

Described as “West Side Story…With Vampires,” "Blood Rock: The Musical” made its world debut on Thursday, September 20that The Odyssey Theater in West Los Angeles. The new musical, which runs thru September 30, tells the story of two rival vampire gangs that have been living secretly in the city of Philadelphia for hundreds of years. Please see:

The new play features music and lyrics by Michael Berns, book by Mark Rich and Michael Berns, direction by Gary Thomas, choreography by Kyra Burns, and is being produced by Marlene Mandell. “Blood Rock: The Musical” features a cast of 17 up and coming performers, along with 28 original songs. Set in the modern day era, the show runs two hours with an intermission, and will be presented in The Odyssey’s largest theater. To watch the promotional trailer:
