During his Florida visit Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence reminded everyone, especially young people, to wear a mask over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Pence said he knows that young people, who have a “strong, independent streak,” want to socialize over the holiday weekend but he urged people to be responsible to protect their parents and grandparents.

“Wear a mask if you’re not able to practice social distancing or wear a mask if state and local authorities direct you to do so,” he said.

Pence met with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in Tampa on Thursday.

He praised the governor for 5 million new jobs created and efforts to “continue to rebuild our economy.”
