Kanye West is once again facing backlash for antisemitic remarks — this time, due to a “disgusting” lyric in the new song, “Vultures,” which was recently leaked.
The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee are particularly concerned about the lyric in light of “rising antisemitism worldwide” since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war in October.
While the embattled Grammy winner, 46, denies there’s any antisemitic sentiment behind the lyric in which he refers to having “f–d a Jewish b—,” the Jewish advocacy groups hold a different perspective.
“At a time of rising antisemitism worldwide, it’s disgusting to see Kanye once again use his platform to spew Jew hatred,” a spokesperson for the ADL told TMZ.
However disturbed, the representative said the lyrics weren’t exactly out of left field, coming from an “unrepentant antisemite and clearly a misogynist.”
AJC spokesperson Richard Hirschhaut characterized the lyric as “particularly pathetic and sad,” according to the gossip outlet.
“To fuel the flames of antisemitism and promote such bile to his millions of followers, especially at this fraught and dangerous time for the Jewish community, is unforgivable,” Hirschhaut said.
The ADL’s stated mission is “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” The AJC “stands up for the Jewish people, the State of Israel, and the democratic values that unite us all.”
The criticisms leveled at West come just after his first live performance of the lyrics, alongside Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Durk, in Dubai this past weekend, per the outlet.
On Oct. 7, Hamas attacked Israel from Gaza, killing 1,200 people, most of whom were civilians. The terrorist organization also took nearly 240 hostages, among them women, children and the elderly. Gaza’s health ministry has said that nearly 15,000 have been killed in Israel’s responding offensive.
