ABOUT HEAL THE BAY:  Heal the Bay is the leading ocean protection group in greater Los Angeles. The grassroots nonprofit uses science, advocacy, and community action to keep Santa Monica Bay and the surrounding watershed healthy, safe, and clean. In 2011 it helped establish several Marine Protected Areas off the Southern California coast – no-extraction zones that allow threatened fish species and marine mammal populations to recover and thrive.
