Chloe Kim and Maddie Mastro head to the Olympic Snowboard Halfpipe finals today. Both began their careers at Mountain High in Wrightwood, CA.
Both Chloe Kim and Maddie Mastro were born in Southern California in 2000.
Maddie Mastro grew up in Wrightwood and attended local schools, from Wrightwood Elementary through graduating from Serrano. Maddie started skiing at age 2 and switched to snowboarding at 6.
Chloe Kim started snowboarding with her Dad at Mountain High when she was 4 years old. He drove her up from Torrance every weekend for 4 years.
Both girls joined Team Mountain High and regularly competed in snowboarding events together for 2 years.
In 2025, Chloe and Maddie were the FIRST two women to land “Frontside Double Cork 1080’s” in Snowboard Halfpipe competition at the LAAX Open. https://laaxopen.com/
Maddie Mastro enters the 2026 Olympics as reigning World Cup Champion.
Chloe Kim enters the 2026 Olympics with 2 Gold medals from 2018 and 2022.
On Thursday, February 12, they will compete against each other in the Olympic Half Pipe event. Wish them luck!
