While Linkin Park has what can be called some of its best songs on this album, it can also be argued that Minutes to Midnight is not its best album. Songs like “Bleed It Out,” with its fast pace, fist-pumping cadence and “What I’ve Done,” with its hard-hitting guitar riffs and melodic vocals, give listeners a fresh sound that’s different from the group’s usual repertoire.

“Shadow of the Day,” with its beautiful, soft-sung lyrics is an incredible song. The problem arises when Linkin Park placed the track in between “Bleed It Out” and “What I’ve Done.” Virtually every song is meaningful, and the composition of each is carefully thought out.

But the album would’ve benefited from a better ordering of the songs. That definitely shouldn’t keep you from buying or downloading it.
