Alright ’80s fans, put on your dancing shoes for the Mighty Six Ninety.

This L.A. quintet brings to mind the big bands of my childhood that I still love today: Alphaville, the Cure and Talk Talk, to name a few.

Vocalist Richard Gardner borrowed the band’s name from his hometown’s famous radio station. The group has already been featured on KROQ, KCRW and Indie 103.1. The single, “Mistakes Like These,” is taking off in the UK as well.

Another successful single, “Leave This World,” is a cross between Haircut 100 and A-ha. I wasn’t kidding that this band is dripping in ’80s gold.
