A sequel to Chocolat, by Joanne Harris, The Girl with No Shadow scrumptiously picks up the pieces left behind in the first story.

Set in a modern Paris that feels quite cozy and old-fashioned, Vianne Rocher, a chocolatier (maker of chocolate) and reluctant witch, attempts to live life under the radar, submersing her powers into the far corners of her mind.

Intent on staying in one place with her two daughters, Vianne does her best to mimic a normalcy she thinks will protect the girls from harm. Unbeknownst to Vianne, a scavenger in the form of Zozie de l’Alba has no intention of letting the Rocher family, born with an inherent knowledge of magic, fade into the background.
