Deep into their career, Minneapolis duo Atmosphere is still kicking out the jams without one trace of being stagnant. Their sixth album, When Life Gives You Get Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, is stuffed with the same poignant bounce that peaked their career in the beginning.

On Lemons, Ant (Anthony Davis) produced every track with his signature jazzy Motown-style beats, yet shied away from his norm on a few tracks to show his ability to switch things up a bit. “Guarantees” features Slug (Sean Daley) rhyming beat-less to slide and electric guitar riffs.

Meanwhile, “Wild Wild Horses"' heavy, thick bass and horn stabs are similar to something off of an Isaac Hayes album. Above all, Slug’s witty storytelling rhymes are the skin that holds together this body of work, transporting the listener to his colorful world.
