If you have never heard the spoken word routines of former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, you owe it to yourself to check him out. Rollins’s latest release, the CD/DVD combo, appropriately dubbed Provoked, is a strong introduction to this dynamic speaker’s work. Be warned, though, that his approach to comedy is not for the faint of heart.

The CD contains cuts from two spoken word performances and focuses on several more recent events and scandals including the president and whether we should care about the bathroom antics of disgraced former Senator Larry Craig. The real highlights of these cuts, however, are a look into how little girls are better equipped to deal with horrific news than boys are.

The bonus DVD is the 1999 Comedy Central special Live and Ripped from London and features uncomfortably funny looks at Henry’s first kiss and his first nude scene on film.
