This Sundance entry joins the ranks of Evil Dead II and Shaun of the Dead as one of the most gruesomely funny horror films. A satire of sexual politics and exercise in audience discomfort, it is the rare horror film that realizes the effectiveness of psychology behind horror rather than relying on explicit gore for shocks.

Dawn, a sworn virgin and abstinence activist, finds a kindred spirit in a new student. When the pair become romantically involved, they find themselves torn between their increasing temptation and their oath to purity.

But Dawn soon discovers that her body holds a dark secret. That’s right, the vagina dentata of ancient myth, that embodiment of male insecurity and paranoia may not be just a myth after all.
