Although Richard Patrick opted to make a more personal, melodic and catchy record, he did not soften any blows with the subject matter. “Soldiers of Misfortune” and “What’s Next” bluntly deal with the ugliness of war and were inspired by Filter fans who would write Patrick from Iraq.

“I Keep Flowers Around” and “Lie After Lie” bluntly describe Patrick’s dissatisfaction with our current presidential administration and war in general. And for those who enjoy the catchier side of Filter, this album is a welcome addition to their discography.
