Every band that’s well known has gone through a time of relative obscurity. Musicians strive to create a sound, look and live performance that captivates. New York-based Ravens and Chimes are on their way to being that band.

Every show they play is a learning experience. At Spaceland, they took the stage with two-thirds of the crowd gone since the previous band’s set. They don’t yet have the element that makes for an amazing show: a convinced crowd. But their performance was no less worth seeing.

Every member of their six-piece band played each song with conviction, dedication and confidence. Asher, the lead singer/guitarist, was appreciative of their crowd – as minimal as it was. The performance, much like their sound, was full, but delicate.
