Song of the Siren’s first, self-published album, City Lights are Blinding You, starts off with a harsh guitar riff followed by tunes that sway from chaotic to calm, topped with a voice that bounces from siren sweet to punk rough.

The songs, like the lead singer’s beautiful voice, switch from fun and wild to bittersweet and touching. The album shifts from the brash “Outlaw” to the soulful “Dirty Magazine” and then back to the free-spirited romp of “Masquerade” just before the mournful “Ghost to Rest.” This back-and-forth continues throughout the album, giving the listener a unique alternative rock experience.
