Lonny Chapman’s Group Repertory Theatre has a gem in Matthew Barber’s charming “Enchanted April.” Director Patricia Lee Willson has put together a perfect cast in this character-driven period piece, circa London, 1922.

Courageous Lotty Wilton, played by Katie Kocis, is in an oppressive marriage. She longs to get away, and when she reads of an Italian castle for rent in April, she enlists a new acquaintance, Rose Arnott (Lacy Altwine), in an effort to obtain the lease for the month.

Together they find two more unsatisfied women, the sexy Lady Catherine (Oona Mekas) and the fussy Mrs. Graves (Lareen Faye), to share the rent and occupation. Each woman could do with some enchantment. They find it and more. Marriages are repaired, loneliness handled and fussiness dissolved.
