Stefan Krohmer’s daring Summer ’04 follows a starkly liberal family on holiday with their son’s vibrant and sexually charged girlfriend, Livia, in tow. Enter Bill (Robert Seeliger), the somewhat reclusive and strikingly handsome neighbor who Livia manages to snare in her web.

Concerned for the girl’s well being, mother Miriam (Martina Gedeck of The Lives of Others), while meaning to protect the young teen, falls for Bill, potentially risking what she once thought to be the perfect familial existence. She is at once caught in an undercurrent of emotions, from jealousy to confusion.

It’s a bizarre love triangle that will have viewers at seat’s edge until the shocking and unexpected finale.
