Lockboxx is a trio of hipsters, and they’re obviously fond of the suave and funky jazz that was made by groups like the Crusaders. Their sound is at once retro and modern: “Rollerglow” wouldn’t be out of place on the soundtrack of a ’60s Blaxploitation film and “Lifeline” sounds like something that Major Healey might have danced to on “I Dream of Jeannie.”

About half way through the album, Lockboxx seals the deal with a little help from guest vocalist Myka Nyne on a Barry White-like groove called “Outward Spiral.”
