UCLA Trains to Respond to Shooters on Campus

A multi-agency training exercise, practicing responding to a hypothetical shooter threat, took place recently at the Rieber Residence Hall on the UCLA Campus. The UCLA Emergency Medical Services unit worked with the LA Fire Department paramedics, UCPD and LAPD police officers controlled the area and SWAT teams from the LAPD and the FBI breached the scene.

Reactions to the exercise have been positive, but the emergency personnel still hope they never have to use this training should such a horrific event become a reality.
