Brett Morgen (The Kid Stays in the Picture) directs this inventive documentary, which brings to life the 1968 Democratic National Convention and the ensuing trial of eight anti-war protestors.

Morgan combines in-depth archival footage, animation re-enactments from court transcripts (voiced by Hank Azaria, Liev Schreiber, Nick Nolte and Roy Scheider), with an explosive soundtrack by Rage Against the Machine to capture the powder keg of the convention and the infamous circus-like trial. It’s a truly unique and vital documentary hybrid, which covers a watershed moment in America’s history.
