I am often baffled by the titles not chosen for DVD release. Films like Enchanted April and The Decline of Western Civilization languish in VHS hell. Girl on the Bridge is one such title, freshly released from purgatory.

Starring the beautiful Vanessa Paradis (Johnny Depp’s baby mama) as a potential suicide victim, she’s whisked from her chosen fate by the always fantastic Daniel Auteuil to perform in his knife-throwing act.

From beginning to end, Girl on the Bridge stuns you with beauty and danger. Sometimes the French seem to know something the rest of us don’t – this is one of those times.
