United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon spoke at UCLA Nov. 13 and discussed global concern and the importance of U.S.-U.N. relations.

Ban was elected secretary-general in Oct. 2006. Before that, he was the Republic of Korea’s minister of foreign affairs and trade.

After visiting Los Angeles, Ban flew to Washington, D.C. to attend the G20 summit on the global financial crisis. Ban was also presented with UCLA’s highest honor, the UCLA medal, by Chancellor Gene Block.
