Don Cheadle stars as Samir Horn, an ex-special forces officer turned Islamic terrorist in this ho-hum thriller. Guy Pearce plays the FBI agent tracking down Horn before he can coordinate a massive attack involving terrorists planted throughout the United States.

Right out of the gate there is little drama to this film, which is based on an idea by Steve Martin (yes, that Steve Martin). The unconvincing direction and screenplay by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow) make you appreciate the work of Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton, Bourne series) who renders these techno-thrillers with thrilling verisimilitude and a verve altogether lacking here.

The major plot twist is anticipated from the opening scene. But the icing on the cake is that Nachmanoff thinks he’s being provocative, forgetting that subject matter alone is just not enough.
