DM Stith’s first full-length record, Heavy Ghost, suspiciously sounds like you’ve stepped into some fantastical land, one from your nightmares. The combination of Stith’s low voice (It’s not creepy, just very odd, yet strangely melodious.) and the sound of instruments and background humming add an eerie feel to “Creekmouth,” “Pigs” and “Isaac’s Song.” What is heard is so convincing that listeners can feel the rush of air passing by as they hear Stith sing, “I’m falling, I’m falling.”
