Set in a small music store somewhere is the City of Angels, The Music Teacher tells the story of Pearl Swain. Failing to realize her dreams of becoming a great musician, Pearl becomes a violin teacher with an ordinary life. Until one day, Halle, a teenage girl with a natural talent for harmony and melody, walks into the music shop.

Not understanding Halle’s troubled background and family, Pearl engages her in music lessons. She sees Halle’s potential and not her broken soul. Pearl does not understand that the melodies of violin are the girl’s only escape from a harsh life.

The newest release from the award-winning writer and producer of “Judging Amy” and “Joan of Arcadia,” Barbara Hall acquaints the readers with tales of human biases, failure, betrayal and supposed self-discovery.
