Theatre West stages a new production of “Gaslight” on the 70th anniversary of its opening. Premiering in London in 1939, and opening on Broadway in 1941, “Gaslight” is the longest running non-musical in Broadway history. It’s not hard to see why! The story line is superb, full of dark intrigue centering on a couple, the Manninghams, who have more than a domestic problem plaguing their union.

This production includes all the essentials for a fluid and winning show: skilled actors, proficient direction and a unique, colorful and interactive set. Without giving too much away, the play involves mind games and a detective aspect, almost like a Sherlock Holmes melodrama.

All in all, “Gaslight” thrills and entertains. See it for Don Moss, the actor who plays Inspector Rough; he will keep you in stitches.

Theatre West is located at 3333 Cahuenga Blvd. West, Los Angeles. For more information, visit theatrewest.org.
