Reminiscent of an angry, somber version of Jimmy rapping on “Degrassi,” Sole and the Skyrider Band’s Plastique combines rap, rock, hip-hop drumbeats and classical piano with a hateful and sorrowful vibe. “Don’t shoot me, I’m already dead,” “Nothing’s gonna love you back” — very depressing lyrics. While I do respect the genre integration and enjoy a nice, melancholic ballad, Plastique is just not the album for me.

The vocals may be calm for the majority of the album, but the lyrics are so enraged, it left me dwelling on the past in a spiteful manner. I’d rather leave my crappy life experiences behind.
