The two things that need to be said about LCD Soundsytem’s 45:33 Remixes are that its original was released in 2006 and it was commissioned by Nike. So in a lot of ways, it’s only sort of an LCD Soundsystem album.

Anyway, with big names in dance, like Prins Thomas and Padded Cell, the album is sure to draw in a crowd of kids familiar with the genre. Fans of the original 45:33 should not be discouraged, however, as all of the remixed songs stay true to the workout theme and would go very well with a stint on the treadmill at the gym.

Casual listeners, on the other hand, may find the album a little repetitive and even downright dull. Unfortunately for Nike, I am not an athlete in any way, shape or form and I definitely do not go to the gym. Ever. In any case, 45:33 is great for its intended purpose, but as a standalone album of music, it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.
