Dead Man’s Bones consists of Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields who bonded over a mutual interest in ghosts, monsters, zombies and the like. The album also features the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Children’s Choir, co-founded by Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The songs are tinged with darkness; zombies, werewolves and creeping nightcrawlers take over the album. The approach to creating the music as well as the recording process was kept minimal, with the duo taking on all instruments themselves, along with producer Tim Anderson of Ima Robot.

Overall, it is a very pleasant and unsuspecting album sure to have you thinking about the dark side in no time.
