The movie had many different sides of it. It was funny, dramatic, sad. A different role for sandler, but change is good.

Funny People is a funny movie but it lags there a bit towards the end. I didn't realize it but it is almost a 3 hour movie just stopping short of that time frame at about 2 hours plus 15-20mins over. Feels almost like a biography of Adam Sandler since they actually do show actual footage of what he did when he was just starting but then it just keeps going with the fictional story. Once you see it you'll figure what I'm talking about. Also if you like comedians be ready to see lots of cameo appearances by them in the movie and one rapper makes an appearance too. I for one kind of like Jude Apatow movies but not really, so I wasn't really sure what to expect out of this one. It is funny with the jokes they say and what's happens through out but as I mentioned it lags towards the end which I felt kind of should have moved faster or cut a bit more. The part where I mention the movie lags is a nice (around up or below) 15-20% of the movie so that just might make it bad for some people.

I was expecting something either a little more heart-warmimg (based on the first trailers that came out) or more hilarious (based on the most recent trailers) but I was kinda disappointed. Most of the characters are comics but their material wasn't that funny. And after the first 10,000 penis jokes... yawn. It felt toward the end that the film was about 30 minutes too long. Disclaimer: I was having a very unfunny day so my opinion may be skewed. The theatre was full and everyone else was laughing alot. I'm a big Seth Rogen fan and he was great as always. Best scene - Eminem! Thanks Campus Circle!

So, i have a few things to say about this film, first of all it wasn't at all what i expected, it was a drama with comedic moments, not the other way around. It had funny parts where the entire theater was laughing, but it hinged on the dark side of celebrity and the struggles of life. There were tons of cameos but all sorts of "funny people" throughout the film. I was a tad dissapointed that it wasn't more raunchy comedy like Apatow is known for.It was a different role for Sandler and i think that he carried it well. It was a tad too long at a little over 2 1/2 hours, but i think the critics will like it cause it wasnt what they expected, while the fans will b dissapointed cause it wasnt what THEY expected

This movie was an interesting look at life behind the scenes for famous people. It was good but not great like some of Sandlers other foreys into the Dramady genre. I liked Click as far as overall, but this was darker and real. There were just a lot of moments where it was hard to watch because it wasn't funny or it was just plain bad decisions, but maybe that was the point. It was a tad too long. Overall I'd say B-.
