Battlestar Galactica: Season One: (Universal)
The resurgence of "Battlestar Galactica" last year as a miniseries was
an impressive achievement, but it was hampered by a need to introduce a new set
of characters, drop a new crisis in their laps, tie it into the universe already
established in the old "BG" TV show, and make us care inside a tight
time frame. Fortunately, the miniseries was popular enough to spawn a full-blown
series, and with those constraints gone, "Galactica" really shines.
You get your drama, your action, your adventure and your nuclear threats all rolled
into one package, and the writing is on par most any show on TV today. If you
enjoyed the miniseries, you’ll thrill over this. And if you missed it, don’t
fret: Universal has generously included it in this set. Includes 13 episodes (eight
with commentary), plus the miniseries, eight behind-the-scenes features, deleted
scenes, galleries and more.
