If anything can be said about How the Earth Was Made, it is that you can pretty much guess what to expect from this History Channel documentary. The tale of our global history offers beautiful imagery and informed experts to back up the scientific story of how both the planet and our way of looking at it have evolved over time.

The documentary also adds some interesting insight into global warming and the inevitability of another ice age, giving a unique look at the rare luck humanity has had in climate. Plus, the all-natural packaging is a nice environmental touch.

The other thing that you could probably predict about the documentary, however, is that it is very dry. Considering the recent trend in making science more fun and extreme for TV, this documentary tells the story in a very direct fashion, meaning that casual viewers and creationists will probably lose interest quickly.
