A struggling couple, Bill Pullman and Patricia Arquette, receives a videotape showing the inside of their house. Soon Pullman gets sucked into a strange and creepy world and is accused of killing his wife. The film abruptly shifts, as Pullman appears to switch bodies with a mechanic (Balthazar Getty) who is carrying on an affair with a crime boss’s wife (also Arquette).
One of Lynch’s least cohesive efforts comes off as an exercise in weirdness, but has a strong following amongst some Lynchophiles.
