For me, the answer is yes. A cross between TimBurton-Land and Amélie-ville, “Pushing Daisies” is all about tone, and that tone is sweet enough to give you cavities.
Ironically, the show centers on death, and maybe the creators thought the morbidity of that would cut the sugar like a squeeze of lemon. “Pushing Daisies”’ protagonist, Ned, makes a living baking pies, but he moonlights as a sort of private detective – he has the ability to bring people back from the dead for exactly one minute, wherein they can explain who killed them.
It’s either your slice of pie, or it isn’t.
