While the chemistry isn’t as magical as with Guest’s seasoned ensemble, there are some hilarious moments and some inventive characters, with some dead-on satire of Vegas and poker-chic. From Farina’s hardboiled “Old Vegas” tactics to Richard Kind’s clueless online poker champion to McKean’s soulless developer (his best role in some time), The Grand sets its sights on Vegas in an effective satire.
