Meanwhile, she struggles to understand her HIV positive son as he grows increasingly obsessed with his invisible friends. When he suddenly vanishes, she suspects that there may be something to his stories after all.
This film by young Spanish filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona comes with the stamp of approval from producer Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth). If it doesn’t all totally add up in the end, you don’t really mind. It’s one of the best-made horror films since The Sixth Sense.
