For those who have never seen War Games, the film follows a high school student whose attempt to hack into a gaming company’s computer network ends up pitting him against the government and their WOPR supercomputer with global nuclear devastation at stake. The film’s cautionary message of not losing control to paranoia is as true today as it was 25 years ago with the Russians.
Along with the typical making-of shorts, this 25th anniversary edition has several in-depth shorts, including an interesting look at hacking and a silly take on the history of “Tic-Tac-Toe.”
