“Bones” belongs to the spate of TV crime shows that have sprung up since the success of the many “CSI” incarnations, in which a specific aspect of investigation is exaggerated in importance and technical ability and becomes the main avenue of solving crimes.

Taking a cue from “The X-Files,” David Boreanaz stars as a cocky FBI agent teamed with Emily Deschanel, a brainy (but attractive) female scientist. The pair banters wittily while solving crimes in Washington, D.C. utilizing the study of human skeletal remains. It’s competent but not unlike countless other shows.
