For those of you who are avowed singles, whether by choice or circumstance, maybe seeing Indie Sex would be a good way to spend your Valentine’s Day. A documentary that bills itself as a “revealing look at sex in cinema,” Indie Sex presents 199 minutes of movie clips and interviews having to do with pushing the sexual envelope.

At the least it’s a valentine to the movies – sex in the movies. Indie Sex presents sex as subversive and cutting edge, the essence of art. By looking at censorship and conventional mores, the film manages to hold a mirror up to American society as well.
