With country music embracing its inner (pop)ulist more than ever – Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson – the timing couldn’t be more perfect for a remake of “Petticoat Junction.”

Not exactly television’s brightest moment, still “Petticoat Junction,” set in a family-run hotel in Hooterville, provides ample opportunity for hijinks with three beautiful daughters, a revolving guest list and local color.
