Chances are that if you know about Thunderbirds, it’s either from the horrible live action kids’ movie or as the inspiration for Team America. Put these out of your mind and imagine a futuristic team of heroes, from the brash young astronaut to the merciless blond bombshell, banding together in secret to save the world.

Now keep in mind that they’re all marionettes. This is the cult phenomenon that is Thunderbirds.

Pretty much every DVD in this set contains production photos, and the first disc has an original behind-the-scenes black-and-white preview of the series. The last DVD is the real treasure trove, offering a full behind-the-scenes feature, a retrospective and an interview with the show’s creator.
