Tim Burton fans rejoice! The filmmaker responsible for making creepy, gothic characters cute and adorable can now add another title on his resume: balloon designer. This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Parade will feature a new balloon designed by Burton, a character named B. Boy. Forbidden from playing with other kids because of his jagged teeth and crazy stitching, B. retreats to the basement of a children's hospital where he obsesses over the film The Red Balloon, dreaming that he too will be able to fly away someday. The director, who brought us classics like Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride, says, "There's always been something about balloons... You see them deflated and you see them floating. There's something quite beautiful and tragic and sad and buoyant and happy, all at the same time."
