Late last night, during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado, an individual opened fired inside a movie theater. The suspect, identified as James Holmes, carried two handguns, one shotgun and one rifle. Reports indicate Holmes, who was a graduate student in the neuroscience program at the University of Colorado Medical School, entered from a back entrance of the theater while the new Batman film was playing. People watching the movie believed it to be part of the film when the gun shots were heard. Holmes, 24 years of age, recently finished a class on psychiatric disorders. He graduated from the University of California, Riverside, in spring 2010 with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience. His mom lives near San Diego.
