Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and University of California, San Diego are among universities getting the most government money, according to a report by Yahoo! Finance. Johns Hopkins received more money from the federal government than any other university; they raked in nearly $1.9 billion in 2011. It's the only school to reach the $1 billion mark.

Johns Hopkins was followed by University of Washington - Seattle, Michigan, Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, Stanford University, Columbia University, UC San Diego, University of Wisconsin - Madison and Duke University.
