One of the best rap/rock combination tours this year! Island Records presented headline rockers Fall Out Boy, joined by The Academy Is…, +44, Paul Wall and the new rock/rap trio Shop Boyz.

I was impressed all night by the drummers in each band, but one in particular that stood out was Travis Barker from +44.

Fall Out Boy gave an incredibly entertaining show. The crowd sang along to their favorite hits, including “Sugar We’re Going Down,” “Dance, Dance,” “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race.” The group even performed “Beat It” by Michael Jackson – definitely a crowd pleaser.

The Academy Is… of Chicago, Ill. had a great set, too, delivering hits: “Neighbors,” “Slow Down,” “We’ve Got a Big Mess on Our Hands,” “Checkmarks,” and “Everything We Had,” which inspired the crowd to break out their cell phone lights.

Also, onstage were locals +44 and the People’s Champ Paul Wall. The rapper from Houston, Texas performed his hits “Grillz,” “Sittin’ Sidewayz” and “Get Money, Stay True” from his new album of the same name.

Each group kept the crowd hyped from start to finish.
