Kweli is friggin’ fantastic when he takes the stage. Obviously, Los Angeles can’t get enough of the bicoastal Brooklyn-to-Studio City MC.

Backed by faithful DJ Chaps, Kweli spit solo favorites, Malib collabos and Black Star classics. He was quick to bring out a bevy of guests, from his Blacksmith Records signees Strong Arm Steady – Phil the Agony and Krondon minus Mitchy Slick – and Cali’s own Planet Asia to “always up for a cameo” Common and Big Pooh from Little Brother.

For two hours, the crowd was treated to hip-hop at its best: beats, rhymes and unity.
