When Throw Rag throws down, you can count on a party – co-hosted by their charmingly wacky lead singers Captain Sean-Doe and Craig "Jacko" Jackman.

The Captain gets the show started with "Hang Up" and "Bag of Glue," but then Jacko pretty much steals the rest of the show. With his shirt quickly removed to reveal his wobbly beer belly, Jacko shouts out his lyrics all the while flailing away at his electric washboard. The scratchy sound of spoons scraping the washboard can’t really be discerned when the band is roaring, but Jacko nevertheless makes for a hypnotic spectacle as he wields his board as if he’s Jimi Hendrix. Between shaking his gut and reeling off somersaults, Jacko pulls an audience member, "Bob," onstage and gives him a hilarious impromptu lesson at fronting a rock band.

Kung Fu’s House of Blues series is notorious for catching hot performances, and Throw Rag chugs through well-oiled performances of the punky "Reno" as well as countrified numbers like "Race with the Devil" and "Days that End in Y." The performance is 15 songs long in all, ending with great versions of "Demons in a Row" and "Beast in Me".
